Wedding Policies:

Music & Entertainment

Southern Exposure recognizes the need for music at your celebration and will assist you in any way that we can. As a small community-based business, we carefully work with our in-house DJ to monitor the volume of all outdoor music. We ask that all music end at 11 p.m. We thank you for your courtesy.

Catering

Southern Exposure offers the talents of our own Chef Elsie, who has created a variety of delicious wedding fare. Choose from our menus, or have our Chef compose a menu to fit your individual taste. Due to health and liability concerns, outside caterers are not permitted.

Alcohol & Beverage Service

Southern Exposure offers several pricing options for your Beverage Service. Bartenders are available to serve fine wines, domestic and imported beers, liqueurs, cognacs and cordials, which are available for you rehearsal dinner or wedding reception. A variety of hosted bar packages are available.

Michigan Liquor Control Commission mandates all alcoholic beverages served must be purchased from Southern Exposure and may not leave the premises. The sale of alcoholic beverages ends at 10:45 PM.

Servers

Our servers work hard to ensure you and your guests enjoy a worry-free celebration. You will find our servers to be highly experienced, extremely friendly and always courteous. Outstanding and courteous customer service is the hallmark of Southern Exposure. To reward our servers for their hard work, an 18% gratuity will be added to all catering functions that include food and beverages.

Closing Times

Life on the farm starts early, and as a courtesy to our neighbors, Southern Exposure asks that all music and entertainment end at 11 PM. Sales of all beverages will end at 10:45 PM. We wish you a safe and happy journey home.

Children

Southern Exposure welcomes children to enjoy the farm. However, due to various landscaping features that include English gardens with statuary and ponds, we are concerned with their safety. Children must be in the presence of their parents at all times.

Miscellaneous

Due to health and liability concerns, no food or beverage may be brought onto our premises from an outside source or removed from Southern Exposure, with the exception of your wedding cake. An 18% gratuity and 6% tax will be added to your final bill.

Payment Policies:

Advance Deposit

To reserve your special date for the perfect English garden wedding and reception, a non-refundable advance deposit of $500 is due at the signing of the contract. Advance deposits are non-refundable but are deducted from your final balance. Deposits may be made with cash, certified check or credit card. There is no exception to this policy.

Guarantee

So that we may be properly prepared to pamper your guests, we ask that you contact our Wedding Coordinator at the time of your reservation, with an estimation of the number of guests that you expect to entertain. Notification of the final attendance must be received one week prior to your event. Charges will be based upon your guaranteed number of guests attending or the actual attendance at the time, whichever is greater.

Final Payment

Any outstanding balance is due on the day of your wedding rehearsal. Final payments may be made with cash, certified check or credit card. For more information or to contact us with ideas for your English garden wedding, please call our Wedding Coordinator, Mi Suk Palmatier at (269) 967-5387 or talk to one of our staff members at (269) 962-1255 or toll free at (866) 554-4372.
